How to Measure Yourself – The Ivory Way

Whether you’re ordering a custom outfit or just want the perfect fit, here’s how to take your measurements like a pro. All you need is a measuring tape, a mirror, and a little patience (or a friend!).

How to take your measurements
1. Bust

Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust.
Keep it straight across your back and snug, not tight.

3. Hips

Measure around the widest part of your hips.
This includes your bottom — stand with feet together for accuracy.

5. Armhole

Wrap the tape around the curve of your shoulder and underarm.
Not too tight — think of how you move in sleeves.

7. Full Length

Start from the top of your shoulder (near the neck) to where you want the outfit to end.
Ankle, floor, or knee — your choice!

Pro Tips from Ivory:
  • Always measure over well-fitted undergarments.

  • Use a flexible cloth measuring tape (not a metal one!).

  • Double-check each measurement — precision makes perfection.

  • If in doubt, our team is just a message away!

2. Waist

Measure around the narrowest part of your waist.
Usually just above your belly button. Don’t suck in!

4. Shoulder Width

Measure from the edge of one shoulder to the other.
Go straight across the back, following the natural slope.

6. Sleeve Length

Measure from the shoulder tip down to your wrist.
Keep your arm slightly bent for the best fit.
